In this episode, Felipe Sánchez speaks with Prof Kristian Bankov about the future of education, building on his book, "The Digital Mind", reflecting on the impact of digital culture on education and what that means for our thinking and communication. Kristian highlights the general shift from a text-based culture to a culture of navigation driven by interactive digital technology. Prof Bankov also discusses the challenges faced by traditional universities in adapting to these changes and the rise of distance learning and online platforms. His coming work will aim to develop the ideas discussed on this episode further, such as his next project of writing a university manifesto beyond the extractivist logic on which universities remain established, (https://erua-eui.eu/2023/05/09/post-extractivist-universities-of-the-21st-century/), where he will elaborate on the utopia of the university as “spiritual luxury”.
